Carolyn Sklar, Principal Consultant

Carolyn has more than 25 years of experience helping lawyers and other professionals align talent capability with business goals. With her help, they have brought clarity to business strategy, built talent capability, achieved desired outcomes and generated firm revenue.

Carolyn is particularly passionate about helping professionals and their teams solve problems and develop the knowledge and competency needed for leading effectively, driving business results and flourishing professionally. Her experience includes conducting interventions that diagnose and address human capital challenges, providing individual and team talent assessment, and facilitating strategic and creative thinking that drives desired business results and enhances team effectiveness.

Prior to joining GrowthPlay, Carolyn founded Sklar & Associates LLC in 2004, where she has provided coaching and consulting services to lawyers and other professionals in the areas of business strategy, leadership development and organizational effectiveness. Previously she served as Director of Marketing for a UK law firm where she was responsible for building and maintaining the firm’s brand and supporting the firm’s strategic intent. In addition to the legal sector, Carolyn also has experience working with professionals within the industries of commercial architecture and design, accounting, and financial services.

Carolyn earned a Master’s Degree in Leadership and Organizational Development at Saint Louis University. She is a member of the American Bar Association Law Practice Division, St. Louis Organizational Development Network and Society of Industrial-Organizational Psychologists. She is certified in Korn Ferry Leadership Architect talent competency framework, and is a certified administrator of several talent instruments, including: FourSight Innovation Profile, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Highlands Ability Battery, and RightPath Leadership 360.
