Barbara Bearss, Administrative Director
Barb manages the firm’s day-to-day operations and accounting responsibilities as Akina’s Administrative Partner. In this role, she also works closely with clients and team members to ensure the successful delivery of client projects. She joined the team in January 2006 and has been an integral part ever since. Prior to joining Akina, Barb served as both a case coordinator at Lakefront SRO Corporation as well as Property Manager at the Housing Opportunities & Maintenance for the Elderly (H.O.M.E).

MY BACKGROUND AND HOW I CAME TO AKINA
Having come from such a diverse background in the nonprofit world and working with so many people of varying nationalities and socioeconomic differences, I have always had a heart for service. When I met Deb nearly 10 years ago, I fell in love with Akina’s dedication of helping people build authentic relationships and create better versions of themselves.

FAMILY AND FREE TIME
I love to play basketball and go on bike rides with my son. I also enjoy capturing moments and people through photography while traveling.
