EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE
Akina blends the best of corporate best practices for leadership and selling with a thorough understanding of the practice of law. Akina partners have coached and trained hundreds of lawyers across the country at small, mid-sized and large law firms. Many of Akina’s professionals have also previously worked in-house at law firms, either as practicing attorneys or as professionals helping to build, implement, and lead a wide range of marketing and professional development initiatives. As a result, Akina’s methodology takes the best sales and leadership practices from the corporate world and refines, adapts and translates them to specifically apply and work for law firms and lawyers.
APPROACH
We believe in meeting each client where they are. Akina does not provide a “one-size fits all” solution based on a long laundry list of things that should be done. Instead we work with our clients to create a customized approach with a focus on what actually makes sense to get done. As a result, clients are able to create sustainable behavior changes to consistently generate results over time.
We also do as much of our work as possible directly with our clients. Practically speaking, this means we do the majority of our coaching in-person, to develop strong relationships with each individual. We also build a client interview process into every engagement, so that we intimately understand and can leverage each client’s objectives, interests, strengths, passions and existing activity.
Finally, Akina’s approach is built on our own passion and integrity, so we don’t preach anything we don’t practice. As a result, our clients experience first-hand our approach to relationship building, problem-solving and service - an approach that is built on maximizing value and creating a great client experience.
EXECUTION
At Akina, we believe that what you do is far less important than how you do it. As a result, our consulting and training approach is entirely geared toward execution. We work with attorneys to figure out an approach that makes sense for the relationship. Then we help them decide how to take action and execute. Often, that means helping an attorney figure out the right words to say or the appropriate approach for a particular conversation. Other times, that may include meeting with a larger client or practice team to derive clarity around appropriate yet specific action steps, who will take them, and by when.
PRAGMATISM
Akina clients consistently describe our approach as refreshing, direct and extremely pragmatic. We believe that doing a few simple things really well is often the best strategy. We often work with clients to help them pare back activity or tweak current activities to create better focus, greater efficiency and larger results. Ultimately, our goal is to help every individual find a few things they can do extremely well and naturally to produce the outcomes they desire.
