Christie, a former California litigator, brings more than a decade of big law firm experience to Akina. She understands first-hand the demands of practicing law and generating business and is driven to help individuals develop greater success through intention and purpose. Her favorite aspect of coaching professionals is helping them re-discover passion and interest in their work while building meaningful professional relationships with clients and colleagues.

Prior to joining Akina, Christie served as Counsel at the law firm of Pillsbury Winthrop where she managed large-scale corporate investigations with the firm’s securities regulatory and litigation practice group in Los Angeles. At Pillsbury, Christie was a frequent participant in the firm’s Professional Development Initiatives and was an active member of the firm’s Women Lawyers Network. Before Pillsbury Winthrop, Christie was an associate at Morgan Lewis in Los Angeles where she was lead attorney on numerous complex litigation and environmental compliance matters. Prior to joining private practice, Christie was a law clerk to the Honorable Manual L. Real of the US District Court for the Central District of California.

Christie earned her law degree at City University of New York School of Law. She earned her BA at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She is a member of the Securities Industry and Financial Management Association and the Information Technology Management Association, and she is admitted to practice law in California and New York.

In addition to speaking, training, coaching and consulting, Christie is passionate about transforming public education and is an active member of the Los Angeles Parents’ Union. Christie loves yoga, hiking, and travel. She lives in the Silverlake neighborhood of Los Angeles with her husband and three children.
